PUBG Mobile India Launch: 4 Important Things That Happened Lately

We know that PUBG Corp has come up with their plan to return to India and are working to bring the much-loved battle royale PUBG Mobile back to India as PUBG Mobile India. There have been reports suggesting the game could launch by the first week of December, but other reports suggest the wait could be longer.

However, PUBG Corp has been teasing the comeback and launch of PUBG Mobile India for weeks now and social media handles and teaser videos are in place as well.

While we always try to focus on a date, here are some important things that have happened with the launch of PUBG Mobile India in the meantime –

No authorization from MeitY for the moment

According to a report from InsideSport, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has not allowed PUBG Mobile India to start operating in the country.

Just to remind you, PUBG Corp recently established the Indian branch of PUBG Mobile India and it is a registered company.

The report cites sources who have said that no prohibited entity can start operations by simply floating a new business. They will need to obtain MeitY’s authorizations to operate in India.

A registered business but no launch date yet

PUBG Corp registered the new company recently and it is called PUBG India Pvt Ltd. The company is registered in Bengaluru.

The date of the first week of December may be incorrect

Recent reports have indicated that the new battle royale could be launched as early as the first week of December, between December 1 and December 5, however, the company itself has yet to officially announce anything.

The agreement with Microsoft Azure

It happened a while ago, but it’s important in the scheme of things. Krafton, the parent company of PUBG Corp, has signed an agreement with Microsoft Azure to host PUBG games. This clearly indicates that PUBG Corp is looking to reduce Chinese connections.
